TOM SARTOR

Senior Analyst | Resources | Morgans Financial Limited

Tom Sartor qualified as a Mining Engineer in 1999 from UQ and spent his early career in underground mining and civil engineering roles with BHP, the London Underground and Heathrow Airport. For the last 10 years Tom has specialised as an Equities Analyst for Morgans  covering the Resources sector, and was more recently appointed to lead Morgans Equity Strategy team.

BRENT COOK

Independent Analyst and Advisor

Brent is an economic geologist and mining analyst who has been involved in the minerals exploration and mining business for 34 years. In 1997 he joined Rick Rule at Global Resource Investments (now Sprott-Global) where he was principal mining analyst until 2002. Since, he has been an independent analyst and advisor to several investment funds and high net worth individuals. He is also co-author of the investment letter Exploration Insights.

BRIAN SHEAHAN

Executive Chair | Morgans Financial Limited

Brian has over 35 years’ experience in the financial services and resources sector. He joined Morgans Stockbroking in 1997 as a Senior Research Analyst and was appointed to the Morgans Board in 2000. In 2004, Brian was appointed Managing Director of the Group and two years later moved into the Executive Chairman position of Morgans Financial Limited. He continues to oversee the roll out of the Group’s strategy.

TECK LIM

Chartered Accountant | Corporate Finance | KPMG

Teck is a chartered accountant and works with KPMG in Perth. Teck is part of the firm’s multidisciplinary corporate finance team assisting borrowers from juniors to majors in raising multisource financing. Teck previously worked at Deloitte, HSBC and recently with ING (Singapore). Teck has a MBA (UWA) and a certificate in mining studies from UBC.

IAN MACFARLANE

Chief Executive Officer | Queensland Resources Council

Ian is CEO of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), a non-executive director of Woodside Petroleum, Chairman of the Innovative Manufacturing Co-operative Research Centre, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ian was elected to Federal Parliament in 1998 and became Australia’s longest serving Federal Resources and Energy Minister.

HEDLEY WIDDUP

Executive Director | Lion Selection Group Ltd

Hedley graduated as a geologist with first class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000 before joining WMC Resources at the Mt Keith Nickel Mine. He has extensive experience as a mine geologist having worked at Olympic Dam, Xstrata in Mt Isa and then Gold Fields at St Ives. Hedley has since spent 12 years with Lion Selection Group, a specialist investment company targeting pre-production miners.
